What’s new

What’s new in JobMargin

We ship improvements every week, most of them asked for by the contractors who use it. Here’s what changed, in plain English.

Win rate that matches your bid log

  • Win rate now counts every bid you send, like the “% awarded” on an estimating log, and shows it as “10 of 280” so you can see the math.
  • Win rate by customer only shows customers you’ve sent at least 3 bids, so one lucky job doesn’t look like 100%.
  • The TV dashboard puts the jobs with crew on site first, then the ones with the latest hours, expenses, or log entries. New jobs no longer hide behind old ones.

Payroll, invoices, and bid-log imports

  • Payroll hours export: each person’s hours for the pay period, by pay type, as a spreadsheet for QuickBooks, Gusto, ADP, or by hand.
  • Printable invoices with your logo, retainage held, a contract summary with change orders, and your payment terms.
  • Missed clock-out alerts: a shift left open past 12 hours shows up for the office to fix before payroll, and the crew member gets a nudge (in Spanish too).
  • Importing a Smartsheet or Excel bid log now brings in the scope: quantity and price columns become line items, plus lump sums and alternates.
  • Free setup and import help is now included on every plan.

Quotes, daily logs, Spanish, and the TV dashboard

  • Online quote approval: send a private link; your customer types their name and taps Accept, and the bid turns Won.
  • Daily log and photos: the crew writes what got done, any problems, and the weather, with photos from their phone.
  • Spanish crew mode: clock, job, hours, and daily log screens in Spanish, chosen on each phone.
  • Monday email: last week in one email for the owner — hours, costs, wins, jobs to watch, and what’s due.
  • TV dashboard: pair any TV with a code. Office view shows dollars; shop view never does.
  • Calendar feed for Outlook and Microsoft 365, Google Calendar, and iPhone.
  • Imports rebuilt: any size file, you check the column matches before anything saves, and duplicates are skipped.

Paid plans open

  • Solo, Crew, and Shop plans with a 14-day free trial. Every plan includes every feature.
  • jobmargin.net launched with guides, calculators, and pages for each trade.

Hello, JobMargin

  • The app gets its name and logo: JobMargin, by Strickland & Co.
  • Drop in a stack of bid PDFs at once and the AI reads each one.
  • Add and deduct alternates, shown on the quote but kept out of the total.

Updates arrive on their own — nothing to download from an app store. Have an idea? Tell us.
